The EEBA Excellence in Building Awards are among the oldest in the

are constructed for improved performance while remaining affordable.
As recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, Mark LaLiberte of
Minnesota based Shelter Companies, has developed and presented building
science training programs to an average of 5,000 industry
professionals each year since 1992. LaLiberte served as board president
of the EEBA organization and is a consultant and trainer for the US
Department of Energy's Building America Program. His dedication to
affordable, safe, durable and energy efficient home construction has
helped to transition the marketplace.
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) is the 2002
recipient of the Technical Achievement Award for the development of
publications and materials for the industry. CMHC is the Government of
Canada's national housing agency, helping Canadians gain access to a
wide choice of quality and affordable homes. CMHC was one of the first
to develop information for both consumers and industry professionals on
improved building performance.
Andersen Corporation's commitment to quality products for improved
building performance qualified them as the recipient of the Product and
Services Achievement Award. Headquartered in Bayport, MN, Andersen
windows and doors delivers the highest level of energy efficiency and
performance, and are covered by one of the best warranty programs in the
country. Andersen was one of the first window manufacturers to be
included in the EPA/DOE Energy Star windows program.
Barbara Bannon Harwood is an author, speaker, and President of BBH
Enterprises and Enviro Custom Homes in Carrollton, TX. As an advocate
for energy efficiency and healthier housing, her work has brought these
issues into the main stream and has provided homeowners with a resource for customizing their own homes. Barbara serves as a
National Director of the National Association of Homebuilders and past
Chairperson of their Energy Committee. She is the recipient of the
Educational Achievement Award.
