Betsy Pettit
Betsy Pettit. A.I.A. is the president of Building Science Corporation
and is a registered architect with over 25 years of professional
experience. She is currently the project manager for Building Science
Consortium’s Building America project, involving system design for over
2,000 high performance houses nationwide. Prior to joining Building
Science Corporation, she was a project architect/project manager for
several Boston architectural firms, and has been responsible for the
design of residential and commercial building, communities, and
developments.
Betsy is the former Director of Modernization and Redevelopment in
Public Housing for the Commonwealth’s Executive Offices of Communities
and Development overseeing over $120M of building improvements to some
40,000 units of public housing. A frequent presenter at national
conferences, Ms. Pettit is one of the leading architects in the
promotion of healthy and environmentally responsible housing. Conference
includes the Energy & Environmental Building Association, Build Boston,
Affordable Comfort, and NAHB. Her work has also been featured in
numerous publications, manuals and professional publications.
A graduate of Miami University’s School of Environmental Design and
North Carolina State University’s School of Architecture Ms Petit is a
registered Architect in numerous states and a member and past board
president of the Energy & Environmental Building Association and Boston
Society of Architects. |
